Hemant Kalia is a proud Kathak guru and a performer from Assam. Being an Assamese. he focuses more on two classical dances one is own Assam’s Sattriya and the other one is Manipuri. He said that his father nurtured and motivated him to continue and get mastery in his inborn talent of dancing. And though this way I was introduced to kathak. He got first prize in a dance competition in his college which is proved as a turning point in his life. He moved towards Delhi for a prosperous career and joined Pandit Birju Maharaj’s Disciples. From the learnings till now he moved towards developing new artistic forms and a guru and raised as a performer.
