Last year, y'all made our very first Big Gay Garba one for the books. So obviously, we had to do it again.
One night of dandiya, garba and Bollywood, with the whole community on the floor in their festive best. Bring your garba energy and maximum twirling.
Your host: Jamini Baviskar
Deputy Manager – Human Resources at Godrej Properties, where she leads Diversity & Inclusion and Campus for the MMR region, building inclusive workplace practices for cis women, LGBTQIA+ folks and persons with disabilities. A JBIMS graduate, Class of '23, and a queer rights activist who creates content on identity, self-discovery and belonging. Her belief: inclusion isn't built by policy alone, but through visibility, dialogue and everyday courage.
Garba master: Varun Zaveri
25 years of winning Mumbai's biggest garba floors — Falguni Pathak, Preeti Pinky, Naitik, Sahara Star, Osman Mir, Kora Kendra, Geeta Ben Rabari and more. Mr. Midday, five years running. He's taught garba workshops from Powai to Switzerland, and now judges at Falguni Pathak, Geeta Ben Rabari and Thane Raas Rang. He'll have you twirling in minutes.
